New Certification Launching for Local Businesses

Top leadership (CEO, GM, Owner, Executive) from tourism-related businesses are requested to attend the Online Hospitality Training webinar introducing the new Certified Tourism Ambassador program that VISIT FLORIDA is launching. South Walton is a pilot destination for this important statewide initiative.  Please direct this information to your leadership so your business can be certified in Florida.

Required Beach Vendor Season Kickoff Meeting
The Walton County Tourist Development Council Beach Operations staff will hold two workshops for beach vendors. All current and prospective beach vendors are required to attend at least one of the meetings. Meetings will be held at the South Walton Annex (31 Coastal Center Blvd., Santa Rosa Beach) on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.

North Walton County Event Marketing Grant Funding Request

Funding consideration is made available by the Walton County Tourist Development Council for events occurring in NORTH Walton County for the period of October 2015 – September 2016. Examples include: festivals, sporting events, concerts, etc. The application process is currently open and the deadline for applications is April 2, 2015. A special workshop is scheduled for February 26 at 10:00 am at the Walton County Courthouse Boardroom for those needing assistance in completing the application.

Special Event Funding Request - Event Sponsorship

The Walton County Tourist Development Council (TDC) will be accepting applications from organizations that sponsor and promote tourism activities within Walton County and bring substantial numbers of over-night visitors to the County. It is available for businesses and organizations who have expressed an interest in receiving funds for the upcoming Fiscal Year Oct. 1, 2015-Sept. 30, 2016. Projects must meet the guidelines and criteria outlined in the below documents.
